Rosie’s credits include 1st place Milking Yearling (with 3rd place Udder) at the 2004 National ADGA Show in Harrisburg PA, and 2005 AGS National Champion in Springfield MA!!  We had hoped to take Rosie to the ’08 nationals, but that dream was cut short when our does caught a bad upper respiratory infection at a local show.  We have no doubt that Rosie would have been very competitive in the national show ring that year.  Last winter we learned that Rosie developed a luxated patella, which from time to time causes her discomfort. That injury ended Rosie’s show career, and ended any hopes of getting her back into the national show ring.

Rosie has an ideal Oberhasli head and face, a beautiful rear leg set, and is tall, long, and extremely level over her topline. An upstanding doe, Rosie has nice, tight shoulders, strong feet and legs, and really excels in both General Appearance and Dairy Character. Over the past few years, Rosie has produced a number of black offspring.

Rosie was our first homebred doe to appraise EX90, receiving an E in mammary… and boy, did she deserve it!  In the middle of a major hurricaine in 2008, Rosie appraised EX92!!

Being everything we strive to produce in our breedings, Rosie easily finished her championship as a 2-year old and earned her star for Milk Production and Butterfat that same year.  Almost all the does in our herd today can be traced back to Rosie as many of her daughters & granddaughters remain in the herd, and we are thrilled with them all!

Rosie’s 2008 son, 3 Gun Salute resides with the Vanjust Herd in Idaho where his offspring excelled in the show ring so well, he was named National Premier Sire not once, but TWICE – in 2012 & 2013!!  Also to his credit, Salute’s daughter SGCH Tutlelu Annielu was the 2013 Reserve National Champion with Reserve Best Udder!! A number of other Salute daughters have also done extremely well in appraisal, the showring, and in milk production!  Rosie’s 2011 son, Ridin’ Shotgun, worked for the Welbian Farm herd in NY for a number of years before he was lost to a freak accident.
