When “Sunny’s” dam was given to the Kori-Brook herd in 2008, an agreement was made that we would receive a doe kid in return…and we couldn’t be happier with this sweet young doe!

Sunny’s dam, Suri, shown in ’09 as a yearling was 8x1st, 2xRGCH, 4xGCH and 1xBOB, out of 10 times shown… and she did earn her first milking leg toward her championship!  Sunny’s sire, Chase, was Best Buck in Show 3 times in 2010!!

Having been tattooed incorrectly (by her breeder :), and her papers not corrected prior to appraisal, Sunny never got appraised as a kid.  Sunny is a long, wide doe with strong feet and legs and lots of width in her hocks.

We were disappointed during appraisal to have Sunny receive a + in mammary, considering how nice her udder is.  The appraiser noted her “short medial suspensory”, and scored her as she felt necessary.  We feel that she has a nice, high, tight, capacious, well shaped udder, and despite her score, we are very anxious to see that udder further develop with her second lactation.  Sunny was bred to Cruiser for mid March kids.

UPDATE: Sunny freshened on March with beautiful twin does.  Both does have been sold, as they were previously ordered…but we liked them so much, we will most likely repeat this breeding again next year!  We are more than pleased with Sunny, although she has only been fresh for a short time.  Her udder rivals that of her dam, and she surely has inherited her granddam Twist’s will to milk!!  We are excited to watch Sunny mature and show her this season.  If she continues to look this good…she’ll be joining us in Springfield this July!!
