When Kristie’s LaMancha does did not settle to their ’09 LaMancha breedings, we agreed to let her add a new doe kid to her 4-H herd.  Having chosen the Welbian Farms herd for her new addition, and learning that only one LaMancha doe kid was born to the herd in 2010, Kristie basically dismissed any chance of getting a doe kid.  What a surprise, and honor, it was to have that single doe kid given to Kristie by Glenn & Donna Pearce!  ‘Summer Love’ fit right into Kristie’s herd, and has been such a joy since her arrival!

Summer is a beautiful doe – tall, long, and extremely dairy.  As Summer is maturing this winter, we are noticing how level she appears to be, and how nicely set those rear legs are…we can’t wait to see this doe freshen!  We were excited to welcome Summer to our herd last spring, as she brings with her a pedigree full of  some very well bred, well known ancestors!  THANK YOU Donna & Glen for giving Kristie the opportunity to own such a lovely little doe!  It didn’t take long for Summer to win a deep spot in our hearts.  Kristie certainly has high hopes for her!!

Unfortunately, our LaMancha buck did not settle Kristie’s LaManchas last fall, so they were all bred, including Summer, to our Oberhasli buck, Cruiser.  Summer’s daughters will make wonderful pets, 4-H projects, and we’re sure, fabulous backyard milkers!  Summer’s kids are due in early April.
